Bench's curving shape makes it easy for large groups to engage in conversation (even more so if you place two benches side-by-side to form a perfect semi-circle). But what good is a great design if it's not backed up by careful craftsmanship and premium construction materials? That's why this bench is created with 100% premium Grade A teak wood, which comes kiln-dried for a low moisture content. That, plus the natural oils present in the teak wood, make your furniture unlikely to be susceptible to rotting or pests. Teak wood's golden honey hue will weather naturally to a silvery gray (similar to driftwood) unless you regularly apply teak oil to protect it and maintain its color. The teak wood used is sustainably harvested from Government Controlled Plantations in Indonesia. It's fine sanded and then constructed with care using mortise and tenon joinery, one of the strongest joints. For a complete outdoor look, pair your bench with an outdoor seat cushion and throw pillows (sold separately). This bench ships Flat Pack Assembled. This means the major sections are pre-assembled, but minor assembly will still be required. About Teak WoodTeak is a deciduous hardwood tree from the highlands of south-east Asia, it does not come from tropical rainforests. Teakwood has a naturally high oil content which makes it both stable and resistant to rotting when exposed to climatic extremes. Teakwood is a natural material and as such fine cracks in the end grain of components, e.g. legs and arms, may appear and then disappear with changes in the weather and the consequent change in the moisture content of the wood. Such fine cracks are normal, especially in heavier components, and will not affect the life or serviceability of your furniture. read more
