Batik rayon shawl, 'Keraton Petals in Claret' (Indonesia)

Decorated with petal-like symmetrical truntum motifs in tones of red and grey, this handwoven rayon shawl is designed by Javanese artisan Koko Limades. She adds the designs using the batik technique, where a wax resist is applied to the fabric before adding colorful dyes. Koko names the shawl Keraton, meaning "palace" in Indonesian. The shawl's width allows it to double as a scarf.
