The rugby star parties hard Stateside, racking up a $20,000 bar tab
Before he weds Prince William‘s cousin, Zara Phillips – and officially enters the royal fold – British rugby star Mike Tindall let loose with his mates in Miami.
Make that very loose.
England’s rugby team captain, who will marry Queen Elizabeth’s granddaughter on July 30 at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh, Scotland, brought nine pals (including future brother-in-law, Peter Phillips) to Miami Beach for a wild bachelor bash.
“The guys checked into the W and partied non-stop for three days,” a source tells PEOPLE. “Mike will be marrying into the Royal Family in less than two months but he is obviously getting everything out of his system now!”
On Friday, the guys “enjoyed an eight-hour drinking marathon” at the hotel pool, adds the source of Tindall, 32 (who, at one point, donned a purple hat and neon sunglasses).
That evening, they had dinner at Meat Market steakhouse, where the man of the hour was dared to down a full carafe of red wine.
“After he did it, he nearly fell asleep and the guys had to help carry him out,” says the source. “Then they partied more at Wall.”
But Tindall was back on his feet the next morning, hitting a pool party at the Gansevoort South, and then a late night bash at LIV, where the group (minus Peter Phillips, who returned home early) danced on tables and couches and enjoyed Patron, vodka and champagne, racking up a staggering $20,000 tab in the process.
“He was having fun with his buddies,” says an onlooker of Tindall. “They were down and dirty and having a blast.”
