Meghan Markle's Not Alone! Every Royal Woman Who Knows How to Rock a Pantsuit
Although Prince William's wife usually sticks to flattering dresses, skirts and long coats, she's been known to occasionally rock a pair of pants. Kate Middleton opted for wide-legged trousers (a departure from her usually fitted pants!) paired with a green blazer and matching clutch for the couple's trip to spread Christmas cheer to military families in Cyprus.
For the annual WellChild Awards in September, Meghan Markle turned to one of her go-to looks: a black pantsuit. She paired the fitted ensemble by Altuzarra paired with a black blouse by Deitas and cute clutch.
PRINCESS CHARLENE OF MONACO
Princess Charlene is never afraid to rock some trousers, including at the 8th Annual Clinton Global Citizen Awards and CGCA Blue Carpet during a 2014 visit to New York City.
Like her new daughter-in-law, Princess Diana was a huge fan of the power pantsuit. She chose a camel-colored number for her arrival at an auction of her dresses at the Carlyle Hotel in New York City back in June 1997.
Diana even took menswear for ladies to the next level by adding a patterned tie to her look while visiting her brother Charles Althrop's new baby at St Mary's Hospital in 1994.
Trousers proved to be a favorite traveling outfit, as seen on the royal in a 1996 snap taken at London's Heathrow Airport.
Princess Diana was gorgeous in grey leaving a lunch with her stepmother, Raine Spencer, at the Connaught Hotel in London.
In 1990, Diana Princess attended a charity concert at London's Albert Hall in a head-to-toe blue number —accented with a bold red lip.
PRINCESS MADELEINE OF SWEDEN
New York City seems to bring out the pantsuit loving in all the royals! Princess Madeleine of Sweden wore a black one while appearing alongside her mother, Queen Silvia, at the World Childhood Foundation USA Symposium in 2012.
PRINCESS VICTORIA OF SWEDEN
Madeleine's big sister, Princess Victoria, proved that suits can get girly, rocking pink trousers with a coat featuring a sweet bow tie accented with a purple shirt and matching heels earlier this year at the 2018 Global Child Forum in Stockholm.
PRINCESS SOFIA OF SWEDEN
The Swedish royal family's love for painsuits doesn't end there! Princess Sofia stunned in a velvet suit at the 2016 Swedish Heroes Gala.
Kate is a pro at dressing down for less formal events. She paired jeans with a navy blazer after attending a SportsAid Athlete Workshop in London back in 2013.
QUEEN MAXIMA OF THE NETHERLANDS
Orange is the color most associated with the Netherlands, but Queen Maxima made a great case for another color in a memorable look (also from New York City!). She sported a red pantsuit while speaking at Goalkeepers 2017, an organization run by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to highlight progress against global poverty and showcase solutions to help advance the Sustainable Development Goals.
She looked brilliant in white (just a green scarf for a pop a color) at the Closure of 'European Association for Cancer Research' Congress in 2012.
Regal white ruled again at the "Club Internacional de Prensa" 50th Anniversary in 2012.
Basic black is another favorite of Queen Letizia's, like when she received an audience at the "I International Symposium on Cancers of the Skin" in 2015.
CROWN PRINCESS MARY OF DENMARK
During a Danish visit to Japan in 2017, Crown Princess Mary was all smiles in a light-colored suit — perhaps because she didn't have to worry about the wind blowing her skirt around?
