Alice Temperley designed a custom post-wedding gown for Kate Middleton's maid of honor
While Pippa, who served as maid of honor, also wore a dress by Alexander McQueen creative director Sarah Burton to the ceremony, she chose designer Alice Temperley to make a custom look for the evening’s festivities.
Pippa wore an emerald green Temperley London gown to the dinner dance hosted by Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace.
“I was honored that Ms. Pippa Middleton asked me to design her dress for the Royal Wedding evening reception,” Temperley said Friday. “Pippa was a delight to work with and knows exactly what she likes. She loved the green color, which looks great on her skin tone. The dress was designed especially for her with a fantastic open back and a full skirt for dancing in.”
She completed the look by complementing the gown with silver Aruna Seth heels.
Pippa’s pick is especially fitting since the Queen royally appointed the designer. Temperley was named a Member of the Order of the British Empire for her services to the fashion industry in March 2011.
