The always-fashionable royal mom stunned in a black and white dress (a new bespoke design from her go-to couturier, Felipe Varela), while her daughters wore matching blue and red coats from one of Letizia’s favorite American designers, Carolina Herrera.
While Letizia styled her wavy hair in a chic braided chignon, her daughters showed off their own braided looks. Both girls had sideswept braids framing their faces.
And this isn’t the first time the Spanish sisters have rocked the braided look. The princesses wore their blonde locks in braids on the royal family’s holiday card last year.
Here are three easy steps to achieve the royal look:
1. Part your hair to one side, creating a deep part. Using the end of a tail comb, section off a portion of hair roughly two inches from the front hairline.
2. Begin the braiding! Separate the hair into three equal pieces. Bring the piece that’s furthest to the right over the top and into the middle, doing the same for the opposite side. When you pull the next section into a plait, pick up a small section of hair from the outer edge, joining it to the main plait. Weave in, then pull a section from the opposite side and join that to the plait.
3. Midway down your face, stop picking up new pieces and plait the rest of the way. Fasten with an elastic, give it a spritz of hairspray and you’re on your way!
