Queen Elizabeth Shares Her Baby Joy: 'We Love to Have Another Girl'
The queen gives her first public statement about the royal family's newest addition
Well, her version of gushing.
While speaking to well-wishers at a garden party at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, the great-grandmother said, “We love to have another girl.”
Charlotte, who is spending her first weeks at the family’s country home of Anmer Hall, is Queen Elizabeth’s fifth great-grandchild.
The 89-year-old monarch met her newest relative before the family headed out to the country, located 110 miles north of London.
The queen is the latest family member to speak out about the baby princess. On Friday, Prince Charles, 66, quipped that he was happy a girl had come along, because she could “look after” him when he’s old.
