Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar (and Their Parents!) Celebrate Christmas With Sledding and Snow

The royal siblings play in the snow and go sledding with their parents in an adorable video

It’s snow season in Sweden — and Crown Princess Victoria and her family are taking full advantage!

The Swedish royal family released new photos and videos of Victoria, Prince Daniel and their children Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar going sledding and playing in the snow, as well as warming up around a fire inside, just in time for Christmas.

In a family portrait taken outside their home at Stockholm’s Haga Palace, Mom, Dad and the two children are wrapped up in their winter gear to keep out the cold. Five year old Estelle is undeniably the star of the photo, captured with a big smile on her face just after throwing a snowball at the camera.

Offering another glimpse into the day, a brief video posted on the Royal Palace’s Instagram account shows Princess Victoria and her husband Prince Daniel in the midst of a snowball fight and riding down a small hill on sleds with Estelle and 1-year-old Oscar.

In an extended clip posted to the family’s YouTube account, second-in-line to the throne (after her mom!) Princess Estelle takes center stage. In the video (in addition to all the fun in the snow!) Estelle decorates a Christmas tree with her mother and then serves Swedish Christmas cookies in front of a fire and plays a party game with her parents and younger brother beneath the tree.

These holiday videos are something of a tradition for the Crown Princess’s family. In past years, we’ve seen Estelle and her parents baking in 2015 and going for a hike in one of Sweden’s national parks in 2016.

Earlier this month, Victoria, 40, and Daniel attended the annual festivities to honor selected 2017 Nobel prize winners, along with other members of the royal family. Though her younger sister Princess Madeleine, 35, flew in from London for the annual awards, she was forced to miss the post-ceremony celebrations after complaining of pregnancy related back pain. She is expecting her third child, a sibling for Princess Leonore, 3, and Prince Nicolas, 2, in April 2018.
