It may be Princess Charlotte‘s birthday, but royals fans are the ones receiving a special gift!
And once again, mom Kate, 34, got behind the camera to take the sweet pictures.
Charlotte is seen playing around her home in pink and blue outfits (with matching bows) and tights by Amaia and ‘Emma’ pre-walker shoes by Early Days.
She is clearly up on her feet, cruising between furniture and anything else she can hold on to, and taking steps pushing toys, but perhaps not able to confidently walk alone yet.
The pictures were taken at Anmer Hall, after the tour of India and Bhutan. “Turning one is an important family milestone, and the family is happy to share these pictures,” a palace source tells PEOPLE.
Her birthday will be spent at home tomorrow “privately” where there will be a family celebration. Her day coincides with a public holiday for May Day in the U.K so her family and friends will have no trouble getting time off to help the Cambridges toast the little one.
Keen photographer Kate also shared photos she took of little Charlotte being cradled by her proud brother Prince George at home at Anmer Hall when she was 5 weeks old.
Kate got behind the camera again seven months later when she took a sweet set of photos of Charlotte in a pink cardigan and floral dress.
The littlest royal has been smiling for the camera a lot lately! The Queen’s mini-me stole the show in a recent portrait for her great-grandmother’s 90th birthday.

While Kate is no doubt taking the lead when it comes to all things party-related for Charlotte’s big day on May 2, she’ll be sure to have at least one other little helper.
“George will enjoy all the birthday festivities, and I’m sure there will be a few of his friends invited too,” Sarah Dixon, a maternity nurse who has worked for friends of the royal couple, told PEOPLE. “He’ll help Charlotte open all her gifts – older siblings love to do that!”
