Crown Princess Victoria

Happy 1st birthday, Prince Oscar!

Sweden’s Crown Princess Victoria celebrated her son’s first birthday on March 2 like parents all over the world: with a candid photo and cake!

In a sweet black-and-white shot, released by the palace, Oscar’s big, beautiful eyes and sweet smile are on display.

The royal mom took the picture herself, joining the exclusive Royal Shutterbug Moms Club, which includes Princess Kate and Victoria’s sister, Princess Madeleine.

The palace also shared a trio of adorable action shots, which show Oscar excitedly eating his first birthday cake and trying out his royal walk!

Oscar’s big sister, Princess Estelle, had her own birthday photo shoot last month with yet another lovely black-and-white photo.

According to reports, Victoria took Oscar’s photo before the royal family returned from their U.S. vacation yesterday.

“The Crown Princess (and Prince Daniel) decided to enjoy a long holiday with their children,” a palace spokeswoman said.

“It’s a journey that’s been planned for quite a while so the royal couple could spend some quality time with their children,” she said.

And no one is more excited to have the royal family back in Sweden than proud grandmother, Queen Silvia

“(Prince Oscar)’s growing up so fast,” she told the Swedish newspaper Expressen. “One day he looks more like his father and the next just like his mother again.”

Victoria has fun plans for her little prince on his first birthday. Prince Oscar, who is third in line to the Swedish throne, is expected to enjoy a private party at the family home at Stockholm’s Haga Palace.

“It’s been wonderful to experience little Oscar: He’s developing every day. It’s an amazing gift to be so close to him,” the royal mom told the Swedish broadcaster SVT in a December 2016 documentary.
