Prince Philip is on the mend.

The 92-year-old royal is doing “much better,” his son, Prince Charles, told reporters Friday. Philip, who spent his birthday in the hospital (when his wife, Queen Elizabeth, paid him a visit), was admitted for an exploratory operation on his abdomen, according to a statement from Buckingham Palace.

On Friday, his grandsons Prince William and Prince Harry visited in the hospital, following a visit by Charles and Camilla, who had arrived half an hour earlier.

Philip was admitted to the hospital on June 6 and was expected to stay for two weeks.

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie also visited their grandfather, who will miss Saturday’s birthday parade for the Queen, 87. Her cousin, the Duke of Kent, will accompany her for the festivities.

No word on whether expectant mom Duchess Catherine will visit the hospital, but she is expected at the parade in London, also known as Trooping the Colour.
