Merry Christmas from the happy couple!

Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall opted for a surprisingly personal photo for their Christmas card this year.

The sweet snap was taken in Scotland by a friend of the prince during the couple s summer holiday at a private estate in August.

The down-to-earth duo – who have given each other the pet nicknames Fred and Gladys (from Charles’ favorite radio comedy program, The Goon Show) – look relaxed and casual, with the prince pulling his wife in for a sweet squeeze and Camilla resting her head on her husband s shoulder.

The cover of the card is decorated with the prince s feathers (his emblem) and Camilla’s cipher. Inside is a simple yet festive message that reads, Wishing you a very Happy Christmas and New Year.

The loving photo is the perfect way to cap off the royal couple s year, which saw them take a momentous tour Down Under. (Who could forget that cheeky shot of Camilla wielding an eight-inch knife near her husband s shocked face?)
