Royals Pregnant Princess Sofia Dazzles at Last Public Appearance Before Her Due Date "I can hold my stomach now!" the royal mom joked to reporters By Caris Davis Published on August 2, 2017 06:36PM EDT Share Tweet Pin Email Princess Sofia ticked off the last official event on her calendar today before she’s due to give birth in September. “I can hold my stomach now!” she joked to reporters on Wednesday in Båstad, Sweden. While her husband Prince Carl Philip, 38, looked after the couple’s 1-year-old son Prince Alexander, at a nearby hotel, Princess Sofia participated in a seminar devoted to sustainability issues. The town of Båstad, 332 miles southwest of Stockholm, holds happy memories for the royal mom, as it was where she first met her husband in 2009. “It was so great [visiting] last year,” said Sofia, 32, who was representing her charity Project Playground, which works to aid deprived children in southern Africa. The pregnant princess stayed at the event until after lunch, allowing time to catch her breath before a scheduled appearance later at the event’s charity dinner. The new prince or princess will be a sibling for Prince Alexander, who celebrated his first birthday on April 19. Last weekend, Sofia and Carl Philip enjoyed a weekend break on the Baltic island of Gotland, where the mom-to-be happily posed for a picture with a local fan on Saturday. The princess was “approachable, friendly, lively and beautiful,” Jenny Maria Svensson wrote on Instagram.
