Royals Meghan Markle's Dad Will Walk the Actress Down the Aisle, Says Her Sister "Any rumor to the contrary," says Samantha Grant, is "rubbish" By Simon Perry Published on January 8, 2018 10:58 AM Share Tweet Pin Email Meghan Markle’s sister says that her father will walk the actress down the aisle at her wedding to Prince Harry in May. There have been conflicting reports that Thomas Markle or Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, would perform the honor. On Monday Samantha Grant, who is the actress’s half-sister from her father’s first marriage, addressed Thomas’s potential wedding involvement during an appearance on the U.K. morning show The Wright Stuff. “Yes he is [planning to walk her down the aisle],” she said. “He will be there one way or the other. Any rumor to the contrary is . . . my favorite new word is becoming ‘Oh, rubbish.’ He will be there.” Meghan, 36, and Harry, 33, who spent Christmas together on Queen Elizabeth’s Sandringham estate, will wed at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on May 19. Thomas is a former television lighting director whose credits include Married . . . with Children. He now lives in Mexico. During her engagement interview alongside Harry, Meghan revealed that her dad and her royal fiancé had yet to meet. Last month, Grant clapped back at Harry over his comments to BBC Radio Four that Meghan had enjoyed a “fantastic” Christmas with the “family she’s never had.” “She has a large family. She always did. Our dad is amazing and completely self-sacrificing,” she tweeted in December. “We made it so that she had two houses. How fun it was!” Chris Jackson/Getty Images But on Monday, she softened her stance. “I don’t think [Harry] meant it that way,” she said. “He was referring to the family all being in one place, and it’s lovely that she can have that. It was more a matter of timing and geography. I wasn’t hurt. Harry said a lovely thing. Marrying merely extends that family.” https://www.instagram.com/p/BG2Ev79GBH3/?taken-by=meghanmarkle As for her upcoming memoir, The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister, Grant said it is not a tell-all, but rather an effort to “make a mockery of the tabloids. I’m so proud of my sister.” She has not received an invitation to the big day – as they haven’t gone out – but she hopes to be on the list. Speaking to Meghan on the morning show, she said, “I am incredibly proud of you. We will sit down and have tea and I look forward to it.”
