Prince Harry isn’t the only royal whose hair has captured the attention of young fans!

Kate Middleton shared a cute moment with a little girl outside a community center in Dundee, Scotland, on Tuesday. The royal mom of three, 37, flashed a big smile as she let the young fan wearing a pink coat stroke her mane, which was styled in her go-to bouncy blowout. The girl grinned back, clearly aware of the special moment.

Her blowout style is, of course, a look that Kate has perfected through the years. The royal mom is known for her polished curls and tends to opt for more volume and bounce when she wears her hair down. Her wedding-day hairstylist, Richard Ward, previously told PEOPLE exactly how he achieves “The Kate” blowout look, with tips on everything from drying the hair (on a low speed) to how to remove the rollers (there’s twirling involved).

“It’s not just about Kate’s hair — it is beautifully finished, frizz-free, shiny hair,” Ward said. “It’s a hairstyle that is well finished.”

When Kate is wearing her hair up, she knows how to put a royal spin on the ‘do. Twice in November she jumped on the trend of wearing a velvet bow to dress up a casual ponytail.

When Kate got her hair cut at Kensington Palace last summer, she reportedly suggested to her hair stylist, Joey Wheeler (from London’s Richard Ward salon), that they make good use of the hair he chopped off. Between them, they decided to send the hair to a charity that makes wigs for children going through cancer treatments.

According to the Sunday Express, seven inches of royal hair was anonymously sent to a charity called the Little Princess Trust. The Herefordshire-based organization makes wigs from real hair and donates them to children who have lost their own hair through chemotherapy or radiation treatments.
