Princess Kate is in sexy summer mode – bare shoulders and all!

The art lover was in her element on Wednesday evening as she stepped out for a glamorous dinner in a stunning white dress by London-based, Brazilian-born designer Barbara Casasola.

The off-the-shoulder, mesh-paneled dress, which retails for $1,105, is made of stretch-jersey.

Kate dazzled at the magnificent Natural History Museum, not far from her Kensington Palace home, to award the Art Fund Museum of the Year prize, which honors an outstanding venue that has shown exceptional imagination, innovation and achievement.

The royal mom, who studied art history at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland (where she met husband Prince William), accessorized her summer look with a matching clutch and nude heels – and her signature blow-out, of course!

And even though Kate is used to walking (and even jumping!) in sky-high heels, she was “slightly” wobbly in her strappy heels, as Sun reporter Emily Andrews pointed out.

As she entered the event, the royal mingled with the night’s honorees.

Of course, it is hardly Kate’s first visit to the famed museum. In October she stopped by with nearly 3-year-old son Prince George, where the twosome enjoyed the dinosaur exhibits together.

“She was holding George’s hand, showing him around and talking to one of the people who worked there,” fellow museum-goer Rimi Rahman told PEOPLE at the time.

While at the event, Kate revealed that George loves sculpture and visiting the Natural History Museum to see the dinosaurs.

Nicky Wilson, who created the sculpture park Jupiter Artland in West Lothian, said, “The Duchess said George comes [to the museum] a lot. We were talking about children interacting with sculpture and contemporary art and he loves doing that.

“He loves 3D sculptures. He does come here quite often.”

Wednesday’s museum evening isn’t Kate’s only big event for the week – she is expected to take in Wimbledon in the coming days, and on Friday she and William will attend an air show in Glouchestershire.
