Kate Beckinsale wasn’t expecting to report for royal duty!

The Underworld star, who was recently hospitalized after suffering a ruptured ovarian cyst, was mistaken for another well-known Kate when a photo accompanying a report of her recent health scare was of Kate Middleton instead of the actress.

But Beckinsale, 45, had the best reaction to being mixed up with the royal mom of three, 37.

“So moved and touched by all the kind wishes I have received over the last few days and staggered by the similar and worse stories my #cysters have been sending me,” the actress commented on Instagram under the gaffe. “I am feeling much better and I hope all the other girls going through it are too.”

She continued, “Back to resume my royal duties. William says hi.”

Sarah Hyland also poked some fun at the confusion.

“Tell Meghan I say hi!” the Modern Family star, 28, commented along with a laughing emoji.

Royal mix-ups are nothing new – and even celebrities are guilty! When Margot Robbie met Prince Harry at Suki Waterhouse’s housewarming party, she thought he was another famous ginger-haired Brit instead: Ed Sheeran.

“He got really offended,” the actress confessed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. She tried to defend herself, saying: “He wasn’t wearing a crown though! Like, I don’t know it’s a prince!”

To be fair, Harry was disguised in a pair of glasses!

Beckinsale shared her recent experience in an Instagram post on Saturday, sharing two photos from her hospital bed. One shows her looking pained with an oxygen tube in her nose. In another, she’s lying on her side in bed and covered by a sheet while surrounded by medical equipment.

“Turns out a ruptured ovarian cyst really hurts and morphine makes me cry. So thankful to everyone who looked after me,” she captioned the shots, adding “#wobbly.”
