But when she held her daughter Summer Rain for the first time, the 7 -lb. newborn quickly stole center stage – and her mom s heart. “I was speechless,” says Aguilera, 34, recalling the moments after she and her fiancé, film producer Matt Rutler, welcomed baby Summer on Aug. 16, 2014. “Having her skin on my skin for the first time as she lay on me was just pure bliss. It truly is what life is all about.” Not always as blissful? Being a hands-on mother to Summer and big brother Max, Aguilera s 7-year-old son with ex-husband Jordan Bratman, while juggling a thriving career that includes a return to NBC’s The Voice (season 8 premieres Feb. 23), recording an album and producing an upcoming TV series for ABC Family. Aguilera admits she doesn t have everything figured out (” ‘Mom guilt’ is the worst thing ever!”), but Summer and Max will always come first: “They are the center of my universe.”
