Southern Comfort

These unreleased tracks date back to 2000-2002, when Anthony Hamilton’s longtime efforts to establish himself as a neo-soul singer had led to backup gigs and little else. You can hear the genuine frustration in his voice as he wails about feeling ”so sick and tired of all that this world is offering” on the slow-burning, funky ”Glad U Called.” Aside from a few underwritten tunes, Southern Comfort is a worthy set — made that much sweeter by the critical and commercial success that Hamilton would soon capture.
