Personally, I’m not a fan of musical distractions when I’m chasing a straight. Riffling poker chips and trash talk is symphony enough for me. Nevertheless, Ricky Jay, a magician, character actor, and cardsharp of the highest order, has compiled a set of gambling tunes on Ricky Jay Plays Poker to accompany your basement games of Texas Hold ‘Em. The portly prestidigitator mostly sticks to folk and blues chestnuts by Dylan, Townes Van Zandt, and Robert Johnson. And there’s also a cool DVD of Jay doing some tricks and a sweet deck of cards.
