Trump Daughter-in-Law and Adviser Lara Is Pregnant with Her Second Child with Husband Eric

Lara is a senior adviser to her father-in-law's re-election bid and has previously sparked controversy for her political comments

President Donald Trump‘s daughter-in-law Lara Trump said Wednesday she is expecting her second child with husband Eric Trump.

“Baby number two coming this August!! 👶🏼 All of the boys are excited to become big brothers!!” she tweeted Wednesday morning alongside a series of warm photos of the couple with son Eric “Luke” Trump, 19 months, and the family’s dogs.

The elder Eric, 35, runs the family’s Trump Organization with older brother Donald Trump Jr. while their father is in the White House. Lara, a 36-year-old former Inside Edition producer, has not shied away from the family’s political turn. (She and Eric wed in 2014 at the Trumps’ Mar-a-Lago Club in Florida after six years of dating.)

Lara, now a senior adviser to her father-in-law’s re-election bid, has regularly appeared at Trump rallies and spoken publicly about the Trump administration’s policies.

Earlier this year she sparked controversy for her remarks about the federal workers stranded in a historic government shutdown over border wall funding. “It’s not fair to you and we all get that, but this is so much bigger than any one person,” she said in a TV interview in January, later arguing that her words were misrepresented.

The president, in his third year in office, is gearing up for a 2020 campaign against many Democratic challengers.

Appearing on Fox News on Monday, Lara dismissed oversight efforts by the Democratic majority in Congress.

“They’re willing to do anything that they can,” she told Sean Hannity. “The reality is the fight against Donald Trump for becoming president in 2020, I think they know, is an impossible battle.”
