Twitter is with Tur — Katy Tur, that is.

Journalists have taken to the social media site to rally behind the NBC News correspondent after Donald Trump singled her out by name at an event on Wednesday in Miami — in which he again lambasted the media for what he called unfair coverage of his rallies.

“We have massive crowds. There’s something happening. They’re not reporting it. Katy — you’re not reporting it, Katy,” the 70-year-old GOP nominee said. “But there’s something happening, Katy. There’s something happening, Katy.”

Although Trump’s campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway, told MSNBC’s Morning Joe hosts that Trump “didn’t mean it in any malicious way,” Twitter users have sent encouraging messages the journalist’s way, using the hashtag #ImWithTur.

“.@KatyTurNBC has been doing stellar reporting since day 1 in let’s stop beating up on the media ” NBC News’ Andrea Mitchell tweeted.

Newsday’s Emily Ngo tweeted: “.@realDonaldTrump singled out @KatyTurNBC for criticism in knocking the press and now people in crowd keep shouting her name”

After calling Tur, 33, out, the crowd booed the journalist. Other journalists at the rally reported that some Trump supporters were harassing Tur following Trump’s comments.

Tur addressed the incident in an interview with MSNBC on Wednesday night, saying that her time covering Trump’s campaign has been a “wild ride.”

“It is a unique experience to have an entire crowd of people … booing you,” she said. “It’s especially unique when they’re actually saying your name and looking directly at you. And that’s what happened today.”

She also took aim at Trump’s claim of unfair media coverage, calling his accusation that the press doesn’t show his crowds “factually untrue.”

“The idea that we’re not showing this movement is just factually incorrect. Donald Trump also does know this to be incorrect,” she said, noting that Trump has joked with reporters in private about his understanding of the cameras at his rallies.

“This is a shtick that he does, it’s to rile up his base. It’s to give them an excuse for polls that might not be in his favor. It’s to give them an excuse to berate somebody other than Donald Trump.”

This is not the first time Trump has lashed out at Tur.

In July, he told the journalist to “be quiet” when she attempted to ask him a question at a news conference, Politico reported. Months earlier, in December of last year, Trump called Tur a “third-rate journalist.”
