Through his work supporting veterans, George W. Bush has found a new ally: Prince Harry.

The two met last year at the Invictus Games in Orlando for the second go-round of Harry’s passion project. (The first installment of the event took place in London in 2014.)

And the former president is here to confirm all your dreams — Harry is just the Prince Charming you’d expect him to be. And to top it off, Bush, who has spent the bulk of his post White House years pursuing his love of painting and supporting veterans, is impressed by his dedicated work on behalf of veterans, too.

“Actually, he was [Prince Charming],” Bush told PEOPLE. “I wasn’t sure what to expect, he probably wasn’t sure what to expect from me either. He is a charming person and he cares deeply about the vets. I was very impressed by him.”

In particular, the former president has been impressed by Harry’s work on the Invictus Games, a paralympic-style sporting event for wounded veterans. The third year of the games will be held in Toronto in late September, and Bush plans to be involved with the U.S. team the months before the big event.

“What he’s done with the Invictus games is really good,” Bush said. “As a matter of fact, I’m going down to the Invictus training camp next week to say hello to our team and to some of the members I already know and tell them we want to help them.”
