Politics Adam Levine, Hillary Clinton, Octavia Spencer and More React to Night 1 of the Republican National Convention "It's like a car wreck, I can't look.... but i can't look away," Spencer tweeted By Karen Mizoguchi Published on July 19, 2016 12:20 AM Share Tweet Pin Email Photo: Alex Wong/Getty The first night of the Republican National Convention, titled “Make America Safe Again,” occurred in Cleveland, Ohio on Monday. Donald Trump made a dramatic entrance to introduce his wife Melania, who headlined the night with a speech that highlighted her husband’s softer side. In addition, Joni Ernst, Antonio Sabato Jr., Scott Baio, Tom Cotton, Jeff Sessions and Rudy Giuliani took the stage to speak in support of the presumptive GOP nominee. Many attendees and viewers at home reacted to Mrs. Trump’s speech as well as the RNC including Adam Levine, Octavia Spencer, Josh Gad and presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. “It’s like a car wreck, I can’t look…. but i can’t look away,” Spencer tweeted. Many, including Gad, commented on Trump’s dramatic entrance. As Queen’s anthem “We Are the Champions” played, a shadowy but unmistakable figure emerged. As Trump walked forward through the haze, the podium rose from the stage in true rock star fashion. Clinton called out Giuliani in a tweet that read: “Republicans have a lot of nice things to say when it’s not an election year. Thanks, Mayor Giuliani.” Though there were criticisms towards the Trumps, there were also some positive remarks. “She was poised, put together, and practiced. Did her hubby proud,” wrote ABC News’ T.J. Holmes. Donald Trump Jr. agreed and responded to a fan who said that Melania was “utterly sensational.” The billionaire businessman, who will be officially nominated Tuesday, is set to address the RNC on Wednesday. His children, Tiffany, Donald and Eric, are scheduled to speak on Tuesday while Ivanka Trump will orate right before her father’s speech.
