Zachary Quinto's Dog Noah Dies: He Was a 'True Prince,' the Actor Says
"His spirit was pure. His love was legend. I am a better person for having had him in my life," says the actor's touching tribute
Zachary Quinto wrote a heartbreaking tribute to Noah, his beloved canine pal of more than a decade, who passed away “surrounded by love” this week.
“Anyone who has ever truly known me in the last 14 years has known this true prince. Noah has been by my side through up and down. Thick and thin. Feast and famine,” read an Instagram post shared by the actor. “In loving him I learned to love myself more fully. He taught me compassion and patience and generosity … and oh how he made me laugh.”
The post — which has received more than 48,000 reactions from followers so far — touched the hearts of anyone who’s ever loved a pet, and likely inspired the rest to consider a new friend.
“He made friends wherever he went,” it continued. “His spirit was pure. His love was legend. I am a better person for having had him in my life. But tonight we had to let him go. Surrounded by love he went to sleep. And may he forever rest in peace.”
The actor’s Instagram feed is filled with adorable memories of the shaggy pooch, whom Quinto told PEOPLE in 2009 was a frequent running companion.
An Instagram of a country outing last October in New York depicted Quinto’s partner Miles McMillan, who shared his own farewell to the pup this week, holding the dog in his arms.
“We had to say goodbye to our dear sweet Noah last night,” McMillan wrote on Instagram.”He was surrounded by love flowers and music. I’ll always remember his big grin and how happy he always was to get a little lovin’.”
