You're Cordially Invited to the Dog Wedding of the Century

Both Instagram celebri-pups, it's surprising Toast and Finn's leashes didn't cross earlier, but when they met at a Hamptons, New York, fundraiser for Friends of Finn, it was love at first sight — and not just puppy love. Their shared devotion to eliminating the inhumane practices of puppy mills strengthened their bond into a romance for the ages. Such a love obviously deserves an equally refined, beautiful and furry wedding, and that is just what the pair got in 2016.

Following Finn's Central Park proposal (approved by Toast's dad, Instagram star The Fat Jewish) late last year, the doggie duo registered with Zola.com, which celebrities of all species love, and started planning for the big day. On Wednesday, the moment arrived. Finn and Toast walked down the aisle at New York City's Highline Hotel, surrounded by friends, family and admirers (of both the human and pet variety). And now you are invited to step into their special day and see just how a dog wedding should be done.

Finn opted for the classic look on his big day. The Chihuahua/dachshund mix is the dog of fashion model, heiress and activist Amanda Hearst. With Finn, Hearst founded the Friends of Finn organization, a non-profit dedicated to ending puppy mills and the organization responsible for Finn and Toast's first sparks of love. 

The dog of The Fat Jewish and publicist Katie Sturino, Toast is a presence of her own. Her Instagram account boasts over 330,000 followers, and her lopsided tongue has captivated the pet world and set a new standard in dog beauty. On Wednesday, Toast was even more of a vision than normal, wrapped in a stunning, custom-made Marchesa gown and glittering jewels. 

Like any good bride, Toast made sure her gown was carefully handled and tailored before she stepped a paw down the aisle. 

As one of the “it” pet couples of New York, Finn and Toast attracted the who's who of Instagram pets and celebrity animal advocates to their wedding. The nuptials were studded with stars all “ooh”ing and cooing over the adorable evening. Some of the biggest furry faces could be found in the wedding party, including Chloe the Mini Frenchie, who watched the couple fall in love, Ella Bean, Baby, Riff, who was in charge of Finn's bachelor party, and several more dogs you've certainly seen on your Instagram feed. 

Taking notes while Toast walked down the aisle was his sister Muppet. Also a bridesmaid, Muppet supported her Spaniel sibling Toast from her first inklings of puppy love for Finn all the way to the big day. After watching her sister get an elaborate celebration, I'm sure Muppet has a few additions to her “Dream Wedding” board on Pinterest. 

Among the lucky ladies paw-picked to be in the bridal party was Baby, the dog of Real Housewives of New York star Carole Radziwell. Like the rest of the bridesmaids, Baby donned a simple and slimming pink sweater. 

Where there is one Real Housewife, another surely follows. Dorinda Medley arrived at the event with her pup Lucy and a wealth of information. Medley shared with PEOPLE that the wedding locale, The Refectory at The Highline Hotel, is the same site where Clement Clarke Moore penned the yuletide classic “A Visit from St. Nicholas.”

Filling up a good part of the guest list was the rest of the ROHNY cast. Given Carole's participation in this important day in dog history, all the girls decided to show up and film segments for the show. Ramona Singer may have contributed the most to the celebratory spirit of the night, cutting the cake and serving slices into people's hands when plates ran out. 

The Officiator – or Justice of the Pooch, if you will – of the ceremony was legendary New York Post gossip columnist and long-time animal activist Cindy Adams, who called the nuptials “historic” and better than many of the famous human weddings she has attended.  

A known fashionista, Toast chose to have Barney's Creative-Ambassador-at-Large Simon Doonan strut her down the aisle, as guests scrambled to take shots of this moment designed to blow up social network feeds.

After saying their “I Dos” and promising to protect each other from larger dogs, Toast and Finn touched paws and exchanged a few sweet licks. 

With the formal part out of the way, Toast and Finn hit the dance floor and the wedding cake hard, mingling with their furry guests and basking in the glow of holy matrimony. The happy couple stayed quiet about big plans for the future. Right now, Toast is focused on her social media career and Finn supports those choices. The pair did say they may expand their family through adoption somewhere down the line.
