World, meet Walter.

He has been through a lot in his one and a half years, but has persevered every time. Now, for #WorldAnimalDay, all he wants is a forever home.

The rescue pup was originally picked up as a stray with a damaged leg in New Mexico. He was taken to a shelter where the wounded limb was amputated. Walter quickly rebounded and found a home. Unfortunately, Walter somehow became separated from his new family and ended back at the shelter with another wounded leg.

Best Friends Animal Society took in Walter, but his leg could not be saved. The three-legged dog underwent another amputation, bringing him to just two legs.

But seeing Walter move, you would never guess that he is missing parts. There was no adjustment period for the pup once he healed from his surgery. He went right back to zooming around and being playful with everyone.

Now, Walter is just waiting for the final part of his healing process to come through: a home with fellow 2-legged folk.
