VIDEO: Firefighter Saves Dog from Building, Owner's Heart Explodes (Yours Will, Too)
This owner’s emotional reunion with her dog says it all
Caitlin Strischek feared the worst.
When the 27-year-old’s Atlanta apartment building went up in flames on Friday, her dog Marley was the only thing on her mind.
“I never felt more scared in my entire life,” she told New York’s Daily News two days after the ordeal. “I was freaking out the entire time. I started begging [the firefighters] to let me in my house to get him but they wouldn’t let me.”
Firefighter Monty Adams – the owner of three dogs himself – knew Strischek’s anguish and vowed to help her. While the upper floors of the building were the most damaged, Adams was able to enter her basement apartment, and that’s where he found 7-year-old Marley sitting on his favorite chair, the Daily News reported, right where he sits when Strischek comes home from work every day.
The owner’s emotional reunion with her dog in the video above says it all – Strischek’s worst fear transforms into one of her happiest moments.
“I’m just so happy,” she said in her interview. “I have my dog.”
