We’re not the only ones with bad memories of middle school dances.

A deer recently stepped foot, er, hoof inside Henley Middle School in Crozet, Virginia, and the floor was so slippery he couldn’t make it back outside without help from a staffer.

In the video posted Nov. 5 on YouTube by Albemarle County Public Schools, the animal can be seen gliding in the front door of the school like a gangly pre-teen on a water-doused Slip ‘N Slide.

The poor guy slips and flops on the floor, trying to catch his footing, but he just can’t seem to steady himself. Over and over, he keeps taking spills eventually catching the attention of several staffers in the process, one of whom steps in to help him back outside.

“Thank you to Mr. Souradji Issotou for all his help with removing the deer safely and securely,” reads the video’s caption. “All is well in Albemarle County Public Schools. You’re welcome for this bit of fun for the day.”
