Ana Ortiz welcomed daughter Paloma Louise on June 27, but the Ugly Betty star and her husband Noah Lebenzon aren’t the only ones adjusting to the new little person in the house: her pets are, too.

Before Paloma’s arrival, the actress – mom to dog Fideo and cat Hutch – was concerned about how they’d react. “It’s funny because my pets are my babies, too,” Ortiz told PEOPLE Pets. “They’re a huge part of my life. But when it comes to getting them acclimated to my baby, everyone tells me, ‘Oh boy, they’re in for a rude awakening!’”

Rescued from the streets, the actress’s pets are both “sweethearts,” and she planned to give them time to adjust to sharing the spotlight with the new infant. And though Ortiz thought Fideo would have a tougher time (“I just don’t want him to be mad,” she said), her furry kids needn’t worry. After all, Ortiz assured, “I have enough love for all of them.”
