That’s 200 lbs. of goodwill ambassador right there.

Instead of staying down by the shoreline, a curious elephant seal pup decided to greet a group of tourists on Snow Hill Island off the coast of Antarctica.

In the video, the blubbery native sidles up to Charlene Fritz while she rests on the rocky beach and flops onto her for a big hug. The friendly baby seal even tries getting a little fresh with the Canadian tourist, sneaking in small pecks when he can.

Fritz smiles through the entire encounter, as she should. It’s not every day you see this kind of hospitality.

The affectionate 2-month-old swimmer was most likely left on the island by his parents. Young elephant seals are often abandoned by their parents, so they are forced to venture out into the open ocean on their own.
