Odd couples don’t get much cuter than this.

Osiris and Riff Ratt are a therapy dog and a rat (respectively) that have formed an adorable bond that’s about to take over Instagram, reports Mashable.

The Chicago pair (@osirisandriff) met after their owner brought 3-month-old Riff Ratt home as a pet. Rats bred to be pets can make ideal city companions because they live in small cages and spend large parts of the day cleaning themselves – a little different than the rodents you see scampering around the subways and streets.

But it appears Riff Ratt doesn’t spend much time in his cage, because he is too busy palling around with his 3-year-old Dutch shepherd friend. Photos from the buddies’ Instagram show Osiris covering the little furball in kisses and even getting his teeth cleaned by Riff Ratt.

Right now, the friends have only about 4,330 followers, but we imagine that’s going to change as their cuteness continues to spread across the Web.
