Several parts of Australia have named the koala a “vulnerable” species as a result of a declining population, which has dropped as much as 40% since 1990. Dogs originally trained to sniff out bombs are now searching for Burmese pythons at Florida’s Everglades National Park. Thus far, the group has helped researchers trap 19 pythons, including a pregnant snake with 19 eggs. –Reuters
