On August 30, Minneapolis’s Walker Art Center will host what is believed to be the first film festival for Internet cat videos, lasting approximately an hour. “It is an experiment,” said organizer Katie Czarniecki Hill. “It will be interesting to see if people think it is silly, or great, or a waste of time. In a southern village of France, some farmers are feeding their cattle wine in an effort to better the taste of the beef. After a trial run last year, in which the experiment led to beef that was “lean, marbled and tasty,” farmer Claude Chaballier plans to continue perfecting the technique next month, with hopes to sell the meat to high-end restaurants. –The Independent

The rescuer of a live cat that was found half-buried in concrete in Colorado City, Ariz., believes it was the doing of members of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, of which he is a former member. “I’ve recorded up to a dozen dead cats put into his horse corral. I’ve recorded dead animals put into his truck, said Andrew Chatwin. After its rescue, the cat died a few days later at an animal sanctuary. –MSNBC.com

A man was found dead inside of a tiger’s den at the Copenhagen Zoo after receiving a fatal bite mark to the throat. While authorities are unclear about why or how the man entered the den, suicide is not being excluded as a possible reason. –Huffington Post
