Christmas came a little late for the lions at the Linton Zoological Gardens in Cambridgeshire, England.

The big cats recently received several old Christmas trees in their enclosure, where they’re enjoying the new additions, according to BBC News.

Linton Zoological Gardens director Kim Simmons says real Christmas trees are “like catnip” for the African lions at her zoo.

Unlike their housecat relatives, these nature-loving felines have no interest in climbing the trees donated by nurseries and locals. Actually, they just want to cuddle them … hard.

In a video directly from the zoo’s lion enclosure, you can see just how close the relationship is between feline and fir. RELATED: The Cutest Pets on Twitter This Week!
