Lifestyle Pets The Daily Treat: The Oscars, As Told By Brie the Dog From Lupita to Liza, this Boston terrier is nailing Oscar night's most memorable moments By Amy Jamieson Updated on December 1, 2020 06:14 PM Share Tweet Pin Email Trending Videos There were plenty of reasons to celebrate Sunday night as many a famous face left the Academy Awards with a new prize. But we noticed the Oscars left out a category – Best Dog Ever – so we’re going to hand out a belated award on the Academy’s behalf. Meet Brie, a 4½-month-old fashion-forward red Boston terrier, who took to Instagram to share some of her favorite moments from Hollywood’s biggest night.PICK YOUR FAVES: Make Your Own Best Dressed List This furry fan couldn’t resist dressing up like Best Supporting Actress winner Lupita Nyong’o, who stunned in a Prada gown and a sparkly Fred Leighton headband. Brie’s version (shown above) featured a flowing blue bedsheet that would have no doubt caused a tumble of Jennifer Lawrence proportions if she was actually tasked with walking in it. And, nobody – not even Oscars host Ellen DeGeneres – could ignore Liza Minnelli, whose aisle seat put her front and center in her royal blue frock paired with a matching blue streak in her hair. While Brie’s fur wasn’t long enough for a proper dye job, she improvised by placing a blue sock on her head. True stars, they make it work. The excitement of the red carpet on Oscar night was palpable on Sunday, just as it is every year. Brie put her best paw forward in her very own Paw-scar red carpet pose – and, thankfully, there wasn’t a rain cloud in sight! Brie’s dad, account coordinator Sean Griffis of Sarasota, Fla., who runs her Instagram account, tells PEOPLE the “true diva” dog is still barking about two other key Oscars moments. “Lupita Nyong’o winning Best [Supporting] Actress and her beautiful acceptance speech,” he says, “and John Travolta messing up Idina Menzel’s name.” More from the Oscars!
