The newest First Dog got a hefty helping of neck and belly rubs outside the White House briefing room on Monday

A group of lucky journalists got the interview they’ve been clamoring for on Monday – with Sunny, the White House’s new pup!

After President Barack Obama completed some interviews of his own, the newest First Dog stepped outside the White House briefing room to mingle with reporters, like NBC’s Savannah Guthrie and Peter Alexander.

“It’s safe to say the press corps is smitten,” Alexander told, after he and his fellow journalists spoiled Sunny with a hefty helping of attention, including neck and belly rubs!
