Bachelor finalist Lindzi Cox wants to make one thing clear: any future with Ben Flajnik must include horses.

The 27-year-old business development manager and lifelong equestrian, who was one of three ladies to receive a rose Monday night, made sure she communicated that message on her hometown date Monday in Ocala, Fla.

“Horses have been in my life since before I was born – I rode before I walked,” Cox said. “So if Ben wants to end up with me, horses are always going to be a part of our life together.”

Flajnik, who gave the first impression rose to Cox after she greeted him on a horse in the first episode, seems to appreciate her maned friends.

“Fancy ride,” he said as she rode up to him for their date at her parents’ stable. “You look good on this thing.”

Though he admits he “never imagined” horses being a part of his life, the dog lover seems to be warming up to them. With Cox’s help, he led a carriage horse, and later, jumped at the chance to race carriages with her parents, John and Margee.

Flajnik admits he still has a lot to learn about the leggy animals. “I would like to say that I’m familiar with horses,” he said, “but I would be completely lying.”
