Texas police were recently called in to assist with rounding up a loose buffalo after it jumped two fences (yes, two) and went roaming down the street in Round Rock, according to video released Friday.
“Yes, that is a buffalo our officers and Animal Control secured near Timothy Dr. and Forest Ridge. Thankfully, no one was injured while it was out,” Round Rock Police said on Facebook.
The department added further detail in a statement: The animal got loose that morning from its owner’s property by jumping both an electric and barbed wire fence.
The North American Buffalo, also known as a bison, is surprisingly quick for its size; and police said the situation could have gone wrong under different circumstances.
Thankfully, no one was injured.
