Susan Sarandon's Pooch Penny Catches the Acting Bug
The actress’s Pomeranian-Maltese attends a charity event to entertain children
Susan Sarandon, 63, has been acting for decades–and it seems she’s passed on the performance bug to her Pomeranian-Maltese Penny, too!
“She’s been on Rescue Me twice and in [the film] Bernard and Doris,” Sarandon proudly told PEOPLEPets.com on Friday at the launch of the Somaly Mam Foundation’s Stop Sex Trafficking of Children and Young People campaign sponsored by the Body Shop. “She’s very good at acting–and very smart.”
As Mam and Sarandon spoke passionately about the serious issue at hand, sex trafficking, Penny tagged along and entertained Mam’s children at the Morgans Hotel penthouse in Manhattan.
“When I realized the kids were here, I asked my housekeeper to bring her,” Sarandon explained. “She’s really sweet. They love her.”
