The cat apparently escaped its carrier and wandered freely around the cabin before settling under a seat.

It’s unclear who (or what) he was running from, but one black cat found his escape plan in peril after he was discovered underneath a seat on an Air Canada flight Thursday.

“Has anyone seen a cat?” The question may have seemed strange coming from a flight attendant, but if passengers on Air Canada flight 189 were surprised at that, they must have been even more shocked when a man calmly announced, “Oh, I’ve seen a cat. The cat is here at my feet.”

Passenger Kath Thompson snapped a pic of the cat in the arms of the flight attendant, who had to crawl under the seat to scoop him up.

Apparently, the animal belonged to a couple, who was flying with a pair of pets when one escaped and made his break for it.

“I’m glad I’m not superstitious,” Thompson told CTV, which makes sense: Seeing a black cat on a plane would probably send anyone with a fear of flying into conniptions.
