He’s just 2½ years old, but Zuma Rossdale already knows that one surefire way to feel better when life’s got you down – snuggle up to something warm and fuzzy, preferably a bunny!

The younger son of Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale suffered a accident last week when he feel from a countertop at home, reportedly breaking his arm. He appeared to be on the mend while out with his nanny on Sunday, when the two hung out at a petting zoo in Studio City, Calif. PHOTOS: Stars’ Babies and Furbabies!

“He’s fine now,” Rossdale told PEOPLE. “It’s almost worse for us [as parents].

Wearing a long-sleeve shirt and an animal hoodie over his cast, Zuma carefully stroked the rabbit’s back and seeming to observe the animal with curiosity. Afterward, Zuma got to ride a train and enjoy some shaved ice.

Here’s hoping a speedy recovery is just a hop away!
