Mom-to-be Selma Blair was seen walking two different dogs outside L.A. rescue organization the Lange Foundation on Thursday, and while it looked like she might have introduced some new furry family members to her home before the arrival of her baby, she was actually just doing a good deed.

“Selma was volunteering,” a spokesperson for the shelter tells PEOPLE Pets.

During this volunteer session, Blair walked two different dogs: Carol, a Lhasa Apso, and Papa, a one-eyed dog much like Blair’s dearly-departed Wink, who died earlier this year. PHOTOS: Pregnant Stars and Their Pets!

“Selma is a wonderful person,” says Lange Foundation’s spokesperson. “She is warm and friendly to all the staff and volunteers. The animals love her. You can see how happy Carol is on her walks with Selma.”

Blair has been a supporter of Lange Foundation ever since she adopted Wink there years ago. Both Carol and Papa are available for adoption from Lange Foundation.
