They make such a cute combo! On Wednesday, Richard Gere’s plus-one on his arm at the Tokyo premiere of his movie Hachiko: A Dog’s Story wasn’t his wife – it was an adorable Akita Inu, a special Japanese breed of dog.
Based on a true story, the film tells the Japanese tale of a dog who accompanies his owner to and from the train station every day. One day, his master does not return because he dies. But the loyal pup still returns to his spot at the train station every day for nine years afterwards, touching the lives of those who come to know him. We’re getting teary just thinking about it!
Though there isn’t a U.S. release date slated yet, we’re looking forward to checking out the film once it hits theaters!
