Every dog has his or her hungry day, but inhaling food in two minutes isn’t exactly safe – it can lead to choking and other health hazards. The Eat Slow Bowl ($32) is a new long-term training tool from Greedy Pup, designed to make your dog, well, slow down when he or she is eating.

Curved plastic protrusions make it harder for a pet to get at its chow, forcing some time between bites. It doesn’t need to be a permanent fixture in your home – the company recommends the product to start young puppies off on a healthy foot or train older dogs to slow down their dining time. The dishwasher-safe bowl holds up to six cups of food and has a no-tip, no-skid bottom, so even the hungriest, most aggressive dogs won’t be able to foil your plans.
