Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks?

Frivel the Chihuahua and his pal Merlian are students at Berenike Schaak’s Berlin-based obedience school, where they’re learning nifty party tricks, like how to push a grocery cart, jump through a hoop and balance on a pole. By taking the lion expert’s 10-week course, disobedient canines are promised to be transformed into poised performers.

“Dogs get bored and need a challenge,” Schaak told the Austrian Times. “It helps them work off energy and keeps them fit. It’s just what a healthy dog needs. Owners see the benefits even after the first visit.”
