Rebecca Romijn: My Dog Helped Me Through My Breakup with John Stamos
“I found Better when I was going through a tough time in my life,” Rebecca Romijn tells PEOPLE
“I found Better when I was going through a tough time in my life,” the Skin Wars star, 43, told PEOPLE. “It was a sad time.”
Romijn felt an immediate connection with her pup.
“I picked up Better when he was about three months old, and he nestled right into my shoulder,” she recalls. “My best friend was with me and he goes, ‘That’s
better.’ And that’s why I named him Better.”
Before having her twins, the actress says Better almost never left her side.
“For the first seven years of his life, he went everywhere with me,” she says. “He’s a great set dog, he’s great on an airplane. He loves traveling too much actually! If I put his travel bag on the floor, he will sit in it until it is time to go.”
Now Better is less active than before.
“Better, because he’s about 14 years old, is firmly in senior citizen territory, so he does a lot of laying around these days,” says Romijn.
Luckily, her favorite activity with her pooch is perfectly suited to his laid back nature.
“Cuddling with Better, there’s nothing better!” she says. “Especially if you’re in a bad mood, he makes everything better. That’s what his job is. He’s very good at his job.”
