Rachael Ray's Dog Isaboo 'Was Phenomenal' During Vow-Renewal Ceremony

The talk show host's 10-year-old pit bull walked her down the aisle in Italy

Rachael Ray’s recent vow-renewal ceremony included one big time V.I.P. (Very Important Pet!): Isaboo the couple’s 10-year-old pit bull!

Not only did Ray and her husband, John Cusimano, marry ten years ago, but they also rescued the pooch a decade ago, too, so it was only fitting that Isaboo be there to witness the couple renew their vows at Castello di Velona, the Tuscan castle where the pair married in 2005.

“She walked me down the aisle and John tied the little ring box to her,” Ray tells PEOPLE. “She has a little wreath of flowers around her neck and my friend who’s an artist painted her harness and it was just sort of mixed in with the flowers. She was phenomenal.”

It was a getaway to remember for the pup, who flew to the destination just like the couple’s family and friends, and handled the long flight like a pro.

Perhaps it was all the love in the air that helped Isaboo overcome a major fear while she was away.

“She swam for the first time,” Ray says. “She’s deathly afraid of swimming, but everyone was having so much fun in the pool, she just jumped in and decided the old dog was gonna learn a new trick.”
