Barack Obama extends U.S. goodwill to David Cameron’s 4-year-old tabby

Cowboy diplomacy, ping-pong diplomacy … kitty cat diplomacy?

In a subtle yet notable gesture of goodwill, President Barack Obama greeted the British Prime Minister David Cameron’s housecat, Larry, during a visit to London last month.

The 4-year-old tabby, who was first adopted to fill the crucial position of mouser, has lived with Cameron and his family at 10 Downing Street since earlier this year.

It took a few months for Larry to get used to his role – he seemed to be enjoying his comfortable new home more than he was his mouse-catching job – but he did settle into it eventually.

And while Larry acted a bit shy during the meeting, the President openly expressed his admiration for Bo’s across-the-pond counterpart.
