Presenting Your Newly Adopted Dogs
Cis Haines (Gingerspice) tells PEOPLEPets.com that her new puppy Ginger Spice was testing the leather couch in this photo. Hopefully it was a gentle test!
Mary Lind (stellasmama) adoped Stella in June from a foster home. Lind and her family have nicknamed the dog “Schnoodle,” because she is “so smart, so cute and we are head over heels in love with her!”
Big Rooger is a “lapdog cuddlebug,” according to owner Andrea Lacy (AndLace911), who says that Rooger likes to prance around with his prized dirty sock. Yum!
Duke, Alicia Nash’s Saint Bernard, loves to make his family laugh. Nash (mknit4ever) adopted Duke in February, and says that he is the “most beautiful, loveable and hilarious dog we have ever had.”
Cindy, shown here on her first day home, was abandoned because she had a hernia. Katy Owens (foggernauter) found Cindy and adopted her, and the pup has “never been happier!”
Susan Marik (ErnieMarik) tells us that she put out this pad for her pooch, Ernie Boy McLovin Marik, to be potty-trained, but he apparently “thought the scent was sleep-inducing and relaxing.”
Shanna Roberts (shanabanana) took this photo of her dog Macie on her first day home.
“Banjo is very photogenic,” writes Lacee Johnson (laceejohnson). “He has so much expression in his eyes. He is the best dog ever!!!”
Andrew DeSimone (OreoPuppy) tells PEOPLEPets.com that he adopted Oreo – who received 4,001 votes – as a surprise for his children after the death of a beloved family dog the DeSimones had for 11 years. “Love the ‘pawprint’ on his nose!” he writes. So do we!
Colin was rescued when he was 5 months old by mom Dorothy Newkirk (ColliLover3), who has five other Collies. Newkirk says that Colin loves the snow!
K Ramsey’s shelter dog, Barni, was 18 months old when he was adopted. Ramsey (Shordy) tells PEOPLEPets.com that Barni “stole my hear the instant I held him. I’m not sure who saved who.”
Darby, a Terrier Mix that Heather Theriault (GreenDay869) adopted in August, “is now 6 months old, happy, healthy, and loving our home. We’re glad we found her.”
Milea King (milaanneking) adopted her purebred Bichon Frise from a dog rescue after his previous owners abandoned him for having hair that wasn’t straight enough. Chewy, who loves to be photographed, is good with babies and children and is “such a ham.”
Lisa Cheek (Theodore) sent us this photo of Theodore, which she took on the day after she rescued him. He has a great smile!
Prints, a shy dog, used the rug in this picture as a safety blanket for the first few weeks after he came home to mom Samantha Kludt (Samantha23Kludt). “He is a big camera shy, so when we get the camera out, he always looks down or away,” Kludt says. “He is too cute for the camera!”
Beckie-Lee, Zima Griep’s (Timerdude) beagle, has a funny motto: “RELAX, soon the day will END, and I get to start all over!”
Donna Baxter (fancygirl) has a lot of love for her bulldog Linus, whom she calls a “bear of very little brain.” Baxter says that Linus loves to “blob about on his back until he forgets when he was doing and simply falls asleep, feet in the air.”
Picture proof! Diana Zussman’s (dogloverdee) 10-month-old Fender “is a cute, fun and loveable puppy.”
Nikki is exhausted from so much play time! Mom Shannon Barakat (LuvNikki) found her dog on Petfinder and knew she was the one. “It was love at first sight!”
Hope Harrison (yankeeprincess) tells PEOPLEPets.com that her adopted dog Bugsy is “just excited to be home.”
G-L-A-M-O-R-O-U-S! Korona “started playing with my scarf and ended up with it wrapped around her, looking at me as if she were ready for a night on the town,” writes mom Michelle Zeoli (mybabies23).
This cocker-golden retriever mix was owner Amy Spencer’s third adopted rescue and “first failed foster!” Spencer (crumb1991) took this photo of Chipper after his hair had grown out – what a do!
When Monique Buck (smartazz66) adopted her Maltese Sophie, she “was extremely thin and filthy” but she has since “put on weight and looks beautiful. She’s very happy and playful and we are lucky she came to our family.”
Andrea Bryant (andreabryant79), who took this photo of her basset hound Herbie on his first day home, tells us that Herbie “had a hard time getting up on the patio because of his big feet–it was very cute!”
